Challenge: Ryan Companies wanted to develop management and employees in four offices nationwide with no full-time internal training staff at the time.

Goal: To identify a human resource development and training partner to create and deliver various topics for employee education and development.

Solution:

Designed, developed, and facilitated customized training programs:

  • Ryan Quality Management – I and II
    • A company-wide (Minneapolis, Phoenix, Cedar Rapids, and Chicago) quality initiative where ECCO provided four segments of the eight-segment offerings: Communicating Across Styles, Respect and Responsibility in the Workplace, Applying Team Concepts using DiSC, and Quality Applied to Ryan Cases.
    • Some sessions were offered in a traditional classroom format and others in a “Learning Station” format, an accelerated/collaborative learning training technique.
    • Offered quarterly as needed to accommodate new hires.
    • Many corporate initiatives and daily actions have been influenced by the result of this training.
  • Ryan Quality Facilitator Training
    • Training geared toward the organization’s leaders to facilitate the quality process on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ryan Meeting Management Training
    • Training geared to meeting facilitators, project managers and supervisors to hold more effective meetings with the right people at the right time with the correct length.
    • Open enrollment – offered quarterly.
  • Ryan Time Management Training
    • Training focused on squeezing more into every day, meeting deadlines with ease, spending less time on struggling with a to-do list and more time on pursuing opportunities.
    • Open enrollment, offered quarterly.
  • Ryan Partnering Sessions
    • Designed and facilitated partnering sessions with Ryan project teams and client teams to craft a joint project vision, ensure a smooth working process, define operating norms, and communication protocol.

Strengthening Corporate Culture

Client: Best Buy Co, Inc.Best Buy

Challenge: With a recent merger, Best Buy wanted to be sure to maintain strong cornerstones of corporate culture while also changing and adding new pieces.

Goal: To define and maintain the cornerstones of a successful corporate culture during organizational change.

Solution: Navigating the Best Buy Corporate Culture Training

This training was designed to define the cornerstones of Best Buy’s corporate culture. The culture elements defined are incorporated into a series of Drama Learning scenarios on video. The deliverables included:

Strategic Planning

Client: Radisson Hotel Systems, Carlson Hospitality WorldwideCarlsonlogo

Challenge: Faced with the global launch of a new hotel front management system, management needed to join together to create a seamless process. One day of downtime equated to thousands of dollars in lost revenue.

Goal: To conduct a strategic planning session and create defined deliverables for a new initiative.

Solution:

  • Designed and delivered strategic planning session for CHW Radisson management to roll-out and manage new hotel front desk management system.
  • Designed and developed training sessions (leader guide, participant materials and visual support) for staff and trainers to use when delivering to Radisson properties.
  • Designed and developed change management strategy to implement in properties to minimize disruption and capitalize on system transition (communication strategy, launch “session in a box,” video training materials, etc.).

Employee Orientation

Challenge: As an employer of choice, Best Buy gets their choice of a talented employable candidate pool. Not all of this talent comes with a strong understanding of the retail marketplace.

Goal: To add critical retail content to an employee orientation process.

Solution: Introduction to Best Buy: Retail 101 Training

The purpose of this training was to orient the employee base to retail practices and aspects of retail business which are unique to Best Buy. The deliverables included:

Customized Training Solutions

Client: Impact Performance

Challenge: Identify and create successful service provider partnerships with a local consulting firm.

Goal: To partner with credible service providers in an effort to provide customized training solutions to clients.

Solutions:

  • Designed and developed seven days of training for Firstar Banks to educate all newly hired tellers on Firstar systems, policies and procedures and customer service.
  • Deliverables included: Leader Guide for internal supervisor/HR staff Participant Guide Support visuals and activities.
  • Designed, developed, and provided consultation re: programming for Developing Effective Coaching Skills training to be developed via Lotus Learning Space via the Internet.
  • This two-module training series includes: Self-directed 90-minute session and 60-minute instructor-led training (both synchronous and asynchronous).
