A new book has been published and we’re proud to announce that three of the chapters are courtesy of Amy Tolbert, Ph.D., CSP. The book is titled “101 Ways to Make Training More Active” and was created by Elaine Biech.
Amy’s three chapters in the book are titled:
- What’s Your Story
- Developing the Leader Network
- Brand Boosters
Each of the chapters features the instructions a facilitator would need to accomplish the training objective in an active way.
“Excerpt: What’s Your Story?
This learning activity is highly flexible. It’s been used for leadership development, sales teams, call centers and front line employees. Mark Twain said, “There is no such thing as a new idea. It is impossible. We simply take a lot of old ideas and put them into a sort of mental kaleidoscope. We give them a turn and they make new and curious combinations. We keep on turning and making new combinations indefinitely; but they are the same old pieces of colored glass that have been in use through all the ages.” Put simply, to improve your brand or organizational culture, look at other companies and see how you can copy them in ways that matter. Turn the mental kaleidoscope!”
The book is published by Wiley and can be ordered online in either paperback or e-book formats.
Hi Amy – Congratulations on the book chapters! This looks like an excellent resource for trainers. As Treasurer of SIETAR USA, I wanted to reach out to you about showcasing your book at our annual conference coming up in October at the beautiful Gaylord Palms Resort in sunny Orlando. Your presentation at the Minneapolis SIETAR conference was wonderful and we would love to see you again! Do you plan to attend in Orlando? We would love to partner with you as a sponsor, exhibitor, or advertiser. Please take a look at the conference website for all the opportunities to get your organization (and your new book) before a diverse audience of trainers and interculturalists. Please contact me at finance@sietarusa.org if you have any questions or would like to discuss the various options. Enjoy your day and I hope to have an opportunity to discuss the work you’re doing and your chapters. Again, congratulations! Best Regards, Amy Rausch
